手紙も写真も、その場に居合わせない誰かに宛てて書かれたり撮られるものです。
またそれらは、不達や現像事故によって宛て先へと確実に届く保証のないものでもあります。
恋人や近親者に宛てて撮られた写真は絵葉書として、まだ見ぬ土地の地図をもって綴じられる。
そんな事を考えながら今回のジンを作りました。
Heading for an island where a silent sage livesというタイトルには、写真という不確実性への挑戦をする意味を込めました。
これは僕から全ての人へと宛てたラブレターです。

Both letters and photographs are made for someone who is not present at the time they are written or taken.
They are also things that come with no guarantee of reaching their destination—lost letters, failed developments.
A photograph taken for a lover or a close relative may end up as a postcard, bound together with maps of lands yet unseen.
With that in mind, I created this zine.
The title Heading for an Island Where a Silent Sage Lives carries a quiet challenge to the uncertainty of photography.
This is a love letter addressed to everyone.
